š¹ How To Adjust Ac Idle Up
Turn the idle screw to adjust the idleāturn the screw to the left to increase the RPM or to the right to lower it. When you have adjusted the idleāaim for 650 RPMāreconnect the idle air adjustment valveās electrical connection. Lower the hood and turn your car off. will make sure your insurance does, too.
but have you told the Speeduino the input pin to use for the switch and its it routed to a pin in the ecu.
Now start the engine and set the idle speed to around 850 rpm with the idle-speed screw. If your engine has a big cam and must idle at a higher speed, that's OK. Note the reading on the vacuum
Your MegaSquirt-II⢠controller can control an Idle Air Controller (IAC) to adjust the amount of air entering the intake manifold based on the engine's coolant temperature. The number of IAC "steps" is user set in a 10 element coolant temperature table. With IAC control, your MegaSquirt-II⢠controller can be tuned to adjust the engine speed
My 89 22re, manual trans, 91K miles was idling kind of slow with the AC on so I went to adjust the idle speed. I hooked up my Sears engine analyzer and saw it was doing 650 RPM at idle with the AC off instead 750 which the sticker under the hood says. So, I went to adjust the idle and was too lazy to consult my factory manual.
To set the timing you have to set the idle at 750, but to set the idle at 750 timing has to be correct, which it is, but it's set at a higher idle. So I'm hoping i'm not pissing in the wind trying to tune the carb with the timing set at the 1100 rpm. If so I'll have to order a diagnostic tach and start over.
I then noticed that sport mode raises the RPM's by about 150 or so rpm. This is on the 1.6T, cant comment about the 2.0. This happens every time you put it in sport mode, the rpm's at idle rise and in this case keeps the idle up enough to smooth out the AC load. programmed for a quicker off idle start, makes sense..
Don't try to adjust the idle speed. It is controlled by the computer. Unless of course, you have had the throttle body and linkage removed from the engine, which could have caused the throttle linkage to be out of adjustment. You could try turning the adjusting screw to get the idle rpm up to around 700 rpm.
Take both hoses off of that VSV temporarily - noting the proper way to put them back on. Put a new hose that is 2-3 ft long on the VSV nipple that the hose coming from your clean air inlet to the throttle body was connected to. With engine off and key out of the ignition, try blowing air into that hose.
